A Biopic On The First Superstar Rajesh Khanna; Film To Be Backed By Nikhil Dwivedi And Directed By Farah Khan
Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna is considered one of the highest-paid actors in the 70s and 80s era. He was termed as the First Superstar of Bollywood for the innumerable hits he delivered in his acting career. He passed away in 2012, and he was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2013. Now as tweeted by Ramesh Bala, Entertainment Industry tracker, a biopic will be made on the late superstar. In his tweet he mentioned, this biopic will be helmed by Farah Khan.

The biopic will be backed by Nikhil Dwivedi and the filmmaker will be referring to the book Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna penned by Gautam Chintamani. Ramesh Bala tweeted, “. @TheFarahKhan to direct the biopic of India’s first Superstar #RajeshKhanna. Kaka’s biopic is produced by @Nikhil_Dwivedi and will be based on the @GChintamanibestseller#DarkStarTheLonelinessofbeingRajeshKhanna@TheFarahKhan@Nikhil_Dwivedi@saffronbrdmedia” Well this seems to be a great news for the late superstar’s fans across the country. 

As per reports in ETimes, Farah Khan speaking about the news, said, “Yes, I have read Gautam’s book and it’s very fascinating. We are in conversation over this, but I cannot comment more.” 


Actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi adds, “I found the book very interesting and the thought of turning it into a film stayed with me all these years. It perfectly encapsulates the man behind the most iconic star our country has seen. There is so much intrigue attached to him. Speaking about if the audience will get to see superstar’s family members, he added, “It’s not something we want to do behind someone’s back and we’re definitely not making something that thrives on controversies and sensationalism. It’s the story of India’s first superstar and we want to capture the magic of his personality and his achievements in the film.
